Personal Defence Regulations

This discipline is designed with the purpose that competitors could be able to show their abilities in personal defence against a real opponent.

Development:
The competition take place with two competitors who could be from the same style or/and school or not, whom we will call competitor "A" and "B".
The development will be the following:
Competitor A attacks and competitor B is just limited to defend, in this case it’s only under evaluation the play of the one who defend.
The play of the competitors will start being evaluated in the moment they enter to the area, so it is very important the pre competition presentation.

Criterions to have in mind:
It will be taken into account the following parameters:

• Technique.
• Continuity
• Difficulty.
• Closing.

Technique:
Competitor must show a legible and consistent technique according to his rank. This point contains blows, blocks, dodges and other technical points that the participant would like to do.

Continuity:
Participant must show a logical technique continuity from the beginning of the interaction until the end of it. This evaluation point is of extremely important because it doesn’t matter how excellent a technique could be but the fluency the technique is developed.

Difficulty:
The judge must have in mind the difficulty level of the technique exchange are made, without leaving aside the previous items. Technique and continuity take priority over difficulty.

Closing:
Participant must making clear the closing of the exchange, being standing up or in the floor. Examples: retentions, leg or hand shoots, endings, etc.

The shown items are the basic parameters to evaluate, it must not take into account if the application is feasible or not, it will only count as parameter of evaluation the previous items.

Infringements:
It is consider an infringement all that doesn’t respect the previous items or the following examples:

• If the technique is made with negligence putting in risk the integrity of both competitors.
• If the technique injures one or both competitors.
• If they proceed in an unsporting, abusive or dishonest way, in an obvious way or reported by authorised staff.

Clothes:
The competitor must be correctly equipped with martial arts sport equipment representative from his school or team.
There are not allowed lascivious clothes (sleeveless shirts, tops, shorts), offensive or too wear out.
This item is very important and could mean from a discount of points to disqualification of the competitor, according to the opinion of the judges in consensus with the section coordinator.

Final Observation:
In case of happening a situation not considerer in this regulations, the organization has the right of decide, according to its own opinion, this decision unappealing.
